Engagement Evening with Law Chi-kwong: Intergenerational Poverty and Social Mobility
Organized by Community Development Initiative Date : July 29, 2013 The Community Care Fund has launched various assistance programmes to help the underprivileged and low income families. Many believe equal opportunity of education can improve the social and economic status of the disadvantaged. Recently, a new assistance programme of “extra travel subsidy for needy special school students” has been launched. But the question is whether this kind of programme can really ensure equal opportunity of education. What should the government do to increase social mobility to tackle intergenerational poverty?
