Characterized by corporate social responsibility, social enterprise is promoted by the government as a new channel to provide social services and create job opportunities for the disadvantaged group. The government support social enterprises by providing fund to assist development, such as the “Enhancing Self-Reliance Through District Partnership Programme” established by the Home Affairs Department. How the government policy can help in promoting the development of social enterprises? Besides alleviating poverty and providing jobs, can social enterprises bear a more important role in developing the third sector as well as social economy of Hong Kong? Ms. Florence Hui would share with the audience on the agenda of the government in dealing with those challenges.
